FEITO EM ANGOLA (MADE IN ANGOLA) SERVICE

Recognising how important it is to promote and value national production for developing national economy and employment, Angola’s government established Feito em Angola (Made in Angola) service.

This service is an initiative to encourage and promote what is produced nationally, to speed up in a focused and effective way national production diversification and to mobilise Angola to increase consumption of what is produced nationally.

Another distinctive characteristic of Feito em Angola is that it highlights a strategic alliance between government and private sector, and as such, this initiative takes advantage of the best proposals that have been made and/or are underway. However, it recognises and tries to contribute to correcting various constraints that hinder initiatives promoting national production from being successful.

Feito em Angola service explicitly recognises economic activities’ dynamic and interactive nature and how its intervention needs to be adapted, thus providing for its review and continuous improvement.

In effect, with implementation of Feito em Angola, over its ten (10) years of existence a number of initiatives have been developed linked to greater promotion of national production.

Promotional actions involved:

  • Training sessions for national producers on management issues.
  • Strengthening relationships between members and public entities by prioritising member companies in supply of goods and services to large public consumers.
  • A strong engagement in Bar Code creation process in Angola.

 

It is important to note Feito em Angola project is based on Market Access, thus giving visibility and value to existing and future national production.

On the other hand, this service also underlines how necessary it is for this activity to increasingly assume its role, which is to produce more, to learn and organise itself continuously, to certify and promote product and service quality, and to increase levels of cooperation and sharing of good practices.

Taking into account various programmes contributing towards achieving a goal of promoting companies as instruments of economic sustainability, it is considered indispensable to create an instrument of a transversal nature, with possibilities of stimulating national companies’ competitiveness, as well as providing for national product quality.

Feito em Angola Service aims to mobilise companies towards economic growth, seeking to improve competitiveness of national goods and services and contribute to a sustainable balance of trade.

Thus, in today’s context, Angola is oriented towards economic re-launch, with PRODESI as a fundamental pillar, aimed at economic diversification. It is therefore necessary for a programme of this nature to correspond to economic diversification objectives, bringing added value in promoting national production, generating employment and wealth, adding value to products to be exported, which has a direct impact on increasing competitiveness and economic growth.

In this way, it is expected a restructuring of Feito em Angola Service will foment an increase in national production of raw materials and mainly of finished products and services, promote products with National Added Value (NVA) above 30% and equally may encourage consumption of national products, by improving quality, competitive prices, thus transmitting greater confidence to consumers.
