EFA 2022: “Palanca” fried potatoes enter international market with Feito em Angola stamp

This company has recently started a process to join SFA, in order to obtain licensing and certification of their product from INAPEM. Portugal and Mozambique will be the first destinations of “Palanca” potatoes in international markets.

After conquering national market, producing about 4 thousand boxes per month, ensuring a daily production of 300 packages in just one shift, “Palanca” packaged potatoes may reach other countries in next few days.

According to Alberto Sebastião, commercial manager, potatoes grown in Malanje, in an area of 50 hectares, have potential to supply demands from entire domestic markets.

This chain intends to extend production to pre-fried potatoes and packed solid potatoes, which will already be registered with INAPEM. One of major challenges for this company is acquiring vegetable oil, as it is packaged in Angola, but comes from abroad.

Sebastião said the company already had a licence to expand its production line to Portugal and Mozambique, and a process is underway to enter other markets around the world, such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and United Arab Emirates.
