A South African supermarket retail chain, leader in Angolan market, has joined forces with National Institute of Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises – INAPEM, to identify possible partners to supply fresh fish on a regular basis and thus improve their offer to customers.
Intention was manifested this Monday, February 13, 2023, in Kwanza Sul province, in Porto Amboim, by Salvador Emílio, General Manager of Shoprite (link para https://www.shoprite.co.ao/ ) in Angola, leading to several visits which are being carried out since today to some member fisheries of Feito em Angola Service (SFA)(link para https://feitoemangola.gov.ao/noticias ), aiming to evaluate national capacity of fish supply to this South African network. Salvador Emílio made these statements during a visit to WengFestão fishery.
This visits itinerary, which began today, runs until 22 February and will also include Luanda (14, 15, 20, 21 and 22), Namibe (16), Huíla (17) and Benguela (18). This process includes reference shops in retail, including Deskontão (link: https://www.deskontao.co.ao/pt/home ), Kero, Candando (link: http://www.candando.com/ ) and Freshmart (https://fresmart.net/ ).
Osvaldo Rasgado, Executive Administrator of INAPEM, said during a visit that this initiative led by his institute, proposes, among other objectives, to comply with PRODESI goals, which includes promoting access of companies to internal market, and consequently, to boost exports branch in southern region, having in mind Shoprite group’s consolidated presence in South African and Namibian markets.
It should be noted that during October and November 2022, INAPEM launched a massive campaign to mobilise companies across Angola to adhere to Feito em Angola Service, which would allow them to access and use Feito em Angola stamps on their nationally produced goods.
The aforementioned campaign enabled more than 200 companies to join SFA and it was possible to register 673 products. Adhesion to Feito em Angola Service can be done through its portal https://feitoemangola.gov.ao/ .
